What Is the Model F?

The Fischbein Model F is a portable bag closing machine — a hand-held industrial sewing head that an operator guides across the open top of a filled bag to stitch it shut. It replaces hand-tying, taping and heat sealing on lines where bag volume does not justify a fixed, in-line bag closing system.

The Model F sews a Type 101 single-thread chain stitch, the standard closure for industrial bags. It handles multiwall paper, woven polypropylene, laminated woven polypropylene, burlap and jute — the full range of bag materials used in agriculture, food processing, chemicals and building products.

Because it is portable, the Model F goes where the work is. There is no fixed installation, no conveyor to build around it, and no minimum throughput required to justify it.

The Crepe Tape Attachment

For applications that need a sealed, sift-resistant closure, the Model F is available with a crepe tape attachment. The assembly adds a tape roll holder and a tape folder for 2-inch crepe tape that folds over the top of the bag before the needle passes through, so the stitch line runs through both the tape and the bag.

A taped closure gives you:

• A tighter seal on the bag top, reducing product sifting through the stitch holes
• Added strength across the closure, which helps with heavier fills and rough handling
• A cleaner, more finished appearance on retail and branded bags

Three Ways to Run the Model F

Hand-held. The operator carries the machine to the bag. Best for low volumes, mixed bag sizes and multiple filling points.

Suspension mounted. The machine hangs from a spring balancer above the work station, taking the weight off the operator while leaving full freedom of movement. This is the most common setup for steady daily production.

Carriage conveyor mounted. The head mounts over a Fischbein carriage conveyor so bags feed through the machine on a belt. This is the step toward a semi-automated closing line, and it uses the same sewing head you already own.
